ANEEL's second 2023 auction is expected to break investment records

O second broadcast auction in 2023 from the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) promises to beat investment record, on October 31st, at B3 headquarters, in São Paulo (SP). 

In all, R$ 19.7 billion is expected for acquisition of three lots which involve the construction of nine projects in the states of Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Tocantins. 

The auction provides for the construction and maintenance of 4,471 km of transmission lines it's from 9,840 MW in conversion capacity at substations. 

If the value is confirmed, this would be the biggest event ever promoted by the Agency, exceeding the expectations of first auction of the year – scheduled to take place on June 30th and expected to generate almost R$ 16 billion. 

“This auction is intended to bring renewable energy generated largely in the Northeast of the country to the load consumption center”, explains ANEEL director, Ricardo Tili.

Among the lots, The first stands out, which includes the delivery of 1,468 km of direct current transmission lines, crossing the states of Maranhão, Tocantins and Goiás. The set concentrates the largest investment planned in a lot already auctioned by the Agency, worth R$ 15.9 billion. 

Next Friday (17), ANEEL will open the public consultation who will receive the suggestions about the notice of the second contest in 2023. The document It will be available for contributions until May 2, 2023, via email: [email protected]
