ENGIE announced that the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) authorized the start of commercial operations of the first plant of the Assú Sol Photovoltaic Complex, starting on January 8, 2025, with 40,5 MW, representing 5,4% of the total installed capacity of the project.
Assú Sol is located in Assú (RN) and will consist of 16 photovoltaic parks, with a total installed capacity of 752,7 MW and a total investment of approximately R$ 3,3 billion.
“The entry into commercial operation of the first plant of the Assú Sol Photovoltaic Complex, 18 months after the start of implementation, is in line with our schedule and reinforces our commitment to excellence”, commented Eduardo Takamori, Financial and Investor Relations Director at ENGIE.
“The start of commercial operations at Assú Sol represents an achievement in our organic growth and in the expansion of the installed capacity of the generating park we operate, which currently exceeds 11 GW”, highlighted Eduardo Sattamini, CEO of the company.
