The CCEE (Brazilian Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization) concluded the operations of the MCP (Short-Term Market) for the month of September and released the main results for the sector. During the period, R$ 2,53 billion of the R$ 2,90 billion accounted for were settled.
The MCP is the environment in which agents involved in the generation, trading, and consumption of electricity settle financial differences between what was contracted and what was actually produced or consumed in the national electricity system.
According to CCEE, the unpaid amounts related to court decisions still in effect regarding the GSF (Generation Scaling FactorThe outstanding amounts owed—which deals with hydrological risk in hydroelectric plants—totaled approximately R$ 320 million. Other unpaid amounts totaled approximately R$ 45,6 million.
In that month, agents who have current court orders exempting them from participating in the sharing of defaults arising from GSF injunctions recorded a compliance rate close to 98%.
Those protected by court orders mandating proportional payment saw a compliance rate of approximately 84%, while agents without injunctions related to the distribution received about 82% of their credits.
