Latin America has a high potential for solar energy generation, due to its strategic position. According to Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), the market in the region is considered the most dynamic in the sector. For the manufacturer of photovoltaic inverters SMA, market experiences were no different. The company reached the milestone of 2,5 GW of power in solar photovoltaic technology in the region.

“This growth is a reflection of the excellent partnerships established in Latin America and Brazil. In 2021, SMA will invest more in staff, technical support and marketing for the entire region. Especially for the team in Brazil, which will have an increase in its specialized team for the areas of Services, Engineering, Sales and Finance”, says Daniel Rosende, SMA general manager for Latin America.

According to SMA, the products that contributed to the achievement include the Sunny Highpower PEAK3, the Sunny Tripower CORE1, the Sunny Central series and the MVPS (Medium-Voltage Power Station), which were successful in Chile and Brazil. “We seek to provide impeccable service to resellers and installers throughout the country who use SMA solutions and to further contribute to the growth of photovoltaic projects in Brazil,” concludes Rosende.

News for the Brazilian market

Aiming to meet demand in Brazil, the manufacturer announced the arrival of the new SMA Sunny Tripower CORE2 inverter for the Brazilian photovoltaic market. According to the company, the equipment offers a power of 110 kW and flexibility in the implementation of systems with three-phase 380V output.

The Sunny Tripower CORE2 is designed for commercial, rooftop or ground-mounted systems and has options for integrating solar storage and direct sales. It also has 12 MPPTs and 24 strings with 1100 VDC Sunclix connector. The inverter is compatible with bifacial panels and up to 50% oversizing, and is recommended for solar projects with up to 1.100 V. It also allows for different panel orientations.

Furthermore, the software integrated into the inverter, SMA ShadeFix and SMA Smart Connected, guarantee maximum energy generation even in shaded systems and offer reduced service costs, system maintenance and automatic notification in the event of a failure.

Per-app monitoring and support

The SMA Energy APP and SMA 360º App were also announced for professional support, enabling remote access to all photovoltaic system data. SMA Energy is a real-time monitoring tool that optimizes control of energy production and consumption of devices, household appliances and electric vehicles.

The app allows you to manage energy flows, provides up-to-date forecasts on daily solar energy production, generation and consumption history and even the carbon footprint. In addition, the system allows you to manage smart charging processes for electric vehicles, set charging targets with the lowest possible cost, optimize energy use and accelerate charging through the boost function.

The tool was designed for professionals in the sector and helps in the quick and easy planning of budgets, sales of photovoltaic systems, in addition to helping to resolve any possible system errors. The application provides information divided between planning, operation and service, through the summary of results it is possible to identify the failures through the name of the system, day and time of the error, it also allows searching for the event or device code, customer name or plant.
