Single-phase inverters SMA purchased in Brazilian territory from partner distributors of the German brand, such as Aldo Solar, and installed from September 1st now come with a 10-year warranty.

In other words, with the five-year factory warranty and an additional five years from SMA ACTIVE.

According to the German manufacturer, the offer only applies to single-phase inverters SB1.5-1AV-41, SB2.0-1AV-41, SB2.5-1AV-41, SB3.0-1AV-41, SB3.6-1AV -41, SB4.0-1AV-41, SB5.0-1AV-41 and SB6.0-1AV-41, installed during the promotion validity period and duly registered on Sunny Portal.

Activating the additional guarantee is simple. The professional installs the inverter and registers the installation in Sunny Portal.

After registration, which must be between September 1st of this year and March 31st, 2021, the installer must fill out the form with the same data registered in the Sunny Portal.

After verification and validation of the data sent, SMA Brasil will send an email confirming the warranty extension.

Inverter warranty terms

According to the German manufacturer, if an SMA inverter fails during the warranty period, the company will bear the cost of new equipment and/or replacement parts.

Furthermore, during the five-year factory warranty, a service contribution will be offered to the installer.

The SMA factory warranty starts from the first operation of the inverter, according to the inspection report or invoice date. However, the SMA warranty does not cover damage and performance issues caused by the following factors:

  • If the SMA inverter has not been installed and put into operation in accordance with the applicable SMA installation regulations;
  • Improper handling of equipment during transportation, storage or repackaging;
  • Damage due to structural changes made without consulting SMA;
  • Improper use, such as insufficient ventilation, use in unspecified environmental conditions, without not complying with safety regulations;
  • Accidents and external influences, repair efforts;
  • Also excluded are components not sold by SMA (e.g. cables), materials subject to wear and tear or surface defects;
  • Force majeure (lightning strike, overvoltage, etc.).
