Brazil added 27 new plants to its generating park in September, totaling 1.400,21 MW of installed capacity, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
Solar generation was the main highlight of the month, accounting for 66,7% of the added capacity. There were 17 new photovoltaic plants, totaling 934,72 MW. Also coming online were eight wind farms (391,50 MW), one hydroelectric plant (50 MW), and a small hydroelectric plant (SHP) with 24 MW.
From January to September, 97 plants began commercial operations in the country, adding 5.921,34 MW to the electrical system. Of this total, 12 thermoelectric plants (2.468,05 MW), 35 solar plants (1.718,35 MW), 37 wind plants (1.506,40 MW), nine PCHs (171,85 MW), one hydroelectric plant (50 MW) and three CGHs (6,70 MW).
The new projects are distributed across 17 states, with Rio de Janeiro (1.672,60 MW), Bahia (980,20 MW) and Rio Grande do Norte (657,25 MW) accounting for the largest volumes of installed capacity. In September, Ceará led the monthly expansion, adding 515,95 MW, followed by Rio Grande do Norte, with 373,77 MW.
On October 1st, the country reached 214.723,8 MW of inspected power, with renewable sources representing 84,37% of the national electricity matrix.
