The STF (Supreme Federal Court) held this week an inauguration ceremony for a photovoltaic solar plant that will be responsible for 7,6% of the energy consumption of its facilities, resulting in annual savings of approximately R$191 thousand on the public body's electricity bill.

The solar power plant – which has a capacity of 180,6 kWp – is the result of the signing of a ACT (Technical Cooperation Agreement) between the STF itself and the Neoenergia Brasilia in June last year.

The forecast is that the photovoltaic unit will generate 267,9 MWh per year, contributing to a reduction in the Federal Court's dependence on conventional energy and to promoting the use of renewable sources.

The inauguration ceremony of the plant was attended by the president of the STF, Luís Roberto Barroso, and representatives of other bodies, such as the general director of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency, Sandoval Feitosa, the president of Neoenergia, Eduardo Capelastegui, and the National Secretary of Energy Transition and Planning of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), Thiago Barral.

In addition to the installation of the photovoltaic plant, the STF also implemented a retrofit in your facilities, replacing inefficient lamps with LED lamps.

In total, 3.678 lamps were replaced, which will result in a reduction of 90 MWh/year in energy consumption and an annual saving of R$64.

According to the STF, these initiatives are part of the Court's commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, seeking to reduce the environmental impact of its operational units.
