Sudene (Northeast Development Superintendency) approved the consultation of the Rio Alto Energias Renováveis Group to finance The construction of four plants photovoltaic plants in the municipality of Santa Luzia (PB).
The financing request is in the order of R$ 400 million, with resources from the FDNE (Northeast Development Fund). In total, they will be more than R$ 680 million in investments in the project.
“Stimulating the energy transition is a sustainability premise not only for the Northeast, but also for Brazil. This is a potential for our region and companies operating in this market see Sudene as a strong partner to consolidate new ventures”, commented Danilo Cabral, Sudene superintendent.
The four plants, called Rio Alto XVIII, XIX, XX and XXI, total, 200 MW of power. They will join the Santa Luzia Solar Complex, made up of 21 parks.
The expectation is to generate about 1350 jobs, both direct and indirect in construction phase. After construction, 86 jobs will be occupied, 21 direct and 65 indirect.
The Rio Alto group also reported the development of social and environmental actions associated with the projects. Among the initiatives are: the distribution of teaching booklets to local schools, the donation of inputs and recyclable materials to families in rural areas, in addition to offering courses in the socio-environmental area.
The group must now present the project to a financial institution accredited as an operator of FDNE resources, which will then carry out a technical, economic, financial and risk analysis. If approved by the bank, the project returns to the superintendence.
At this time, the collegiate board will deliberate on the authorization of financing.

This is the result of our effort to expand the dissemination and capillarity of resources, getting ever closer to entrepreneurs”, said Heitor Freire, director of funds, incentives and investment attraction at Sudene.
Solar energy in Paraíba
Currently, the state has 1.04 GW of installed capacity in solar sources. Of this total, around 0.38 GW are in DG (distributed generation) and the other 0.66 GW in GC (centralized generation). Furthermore, there are still another 3.77 GW granted in GC projects in Paraíba.
