The sharp increase in the number of photovoltaic systems installed in homes, businesses, rural properties and other spaces across Brazil, along with a growing number of bilateral power purchase agreements (PPAs) for large-scale solar plants across Brazil, is boosting the solar sector in the country.

Today, there are already more than 9 GW of operational photovoltaic installations, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). This scenario is promising for the solar sector, which last year registered 4,9 GW in sales of photovoltaic inverters, according to a report by the consultancy Greener.

These numbers caught the attention of German manufacturer Sunways, which has significantly increased its investments in Brazil over the years and gradually deepened its market penetration and expanded the local service team.

“Brazil is the center of attention in 2021 for Sunways. Today, we offer a wide variety of high-quality products for all photovoltaic applications and environments, including residential, commercial and large-scale solar installations and energy storage,” says Carlos Trotta, Sales Manager Brazil and Latin America at Sunways.

Currently, Sunways' portfolio includes single-phase residential series (STS 1 ~ 10kW); the three-phase small commercial series (STT 4 ~ 25kW); the industrial and ground-mounted three-phase series (STT 50 ~ 136kW); and the residential and commercial series of energy storage (STH 3 ~ 12kW) and monitoring devices.

Sunways has already received certificates from INMETRO for the 3kW, 5kW, 6kW, 8kW single-phase inverters and the 10kW three-phase inverter. Furthermore, all inverters were approved by IEC 62109, EMC 61000, IEC 61727 and 62116 and 61683 and 60068 which have already been launched on the Brazilian market.

“Our extensive product range allows us to meet the world's constantly changing demand and greatly increases our competitive power. Our products stand out, compared to other brands, for having high quality and cutting-edge German technologies”, highlights Trotta.

After nearly 30 years of continuous development, Sunways has become one of the oldest and most important string inverter companies in the photovoltaic field. Today, it is present in more than 40 countries and has a team of approximately 50 R&D (Research and Development) professionals with more than ten years of experience in the photovoltaic industry.

“From material selection criteria, software control algorithms, research and development, production and in-house testing to market launch, each process complies with recognized German quality standards. Sunways strives to meet customer expectations of high quality and high reliability by utilizing state-of-the-art automated manufacturing facilities and a rigorous German-standard quality control system,” highlights Trotta.

Features of Sunways inverters

According to the manufacturer, its equipment has several built-in protection mechanisms, such as protection against DC and AC surges, anti-islanding, short circuit, overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, as well as reverse polarity protection with fault monitoring features. ground and network connections that further guarantee stable performance and safe operation.

Furthermore, Sunways highlights that its inverters are equipped with advanced MPPT algorithm with an MPPT efficiency of 99,9%, which can effectively reduce power loss caused by rapid weather changes and multi-peak shadows.

“Our inverters support more than 1,3 times the DC oversizing capacity and 1,1 times the continuous AC oversizing capacity. With OLED display and exquisite appearance design, Sunways inverters are more attractive and good-looking. The key components we use are from world-leading manufacturers such as Rubycon, Panasonic, Infineon, materials that ensure better reliability and efficiency. An unparalleled current loop design maximizes component performance and improves heat dissipation performance, making our inverters more efficient and reliable,” concludes Trotta.
