With revenues exceeding R$ 750 million, the textile manufacturer Vicunha Têxtil has taken another step in its strategy to seek greater competitiveness and sustainability in its energy supply.
This week, the company received approval from CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) to acquire Inti Comercializadora de Energia, currently owned by Indra Holding.
According to Vicunha, the operation is part of its energy self-production strategy and represents a move to consolidate the energy management of its industrial units.
The initiative will also contribute to reducing operational risks and costs, as well as reinforcing the company's practices and commitments to the sustainability agenda.
Vicunha manufactures fabrics, artificial and synthetic textile fibers, and cotton-based garments. Production is destined for both the domestic and international markets. The company maintains industrial plants in Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to operations in Ecuador and Argentina.
In early 2025, the company also advanced in self-production by closing a deal to acquire 95% of the ordinary shares of five wind farms from Enel Green Power, linked to the Ventos de São Roque complex, located in the municipality of Dom Inocêncio, in Piauí.
The project comprises 17 wind farms, with 795 MW of installed capacity. The five assets acquired by Vicunha total 247,5 MW of capacity.
