Tim continues at full steam in the renewable energy market. This is because the company announced that it will build, in partnership with EDP, two new solar plants for the state of São Paulo.
According to the telephone operator, the plants will be implemented in the city of Taubaté and should generate 3.7 GWh per year – enough to guarantee the supply of renewable energy to 237 Tim stores.
The project will also avoid the emission of 465 tons of carbon dioxide per year, the equivalent of planting 2,853 trees.
This initiative is part of the operator's National Distributed Generation Project, created in 2017, with a hydro plant pilot in Minas Gerais.
In December, as reported by Solar Channel, the company had announced that it plans to build, by mid-2021, 60 solar, hydro and biogas power plants. Together, they should generate 38 GWh monthly.
