Trina vai aumentar produção de painéis de 500 W e 600 W em 15 GW até 20

A Trina Solar, a global manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, announced that it will expand its solar panel production capacity by 15 GW.

The project is estimated to cost around 3 billion yuan (R$ 2.5 billion), of which 1.5 billion yuan (R$ 1.2 billion) will be used to purchase equipment.

According to the manufacturer, construction should begin later this year and will be completed in 2023.

To this end, the company signed a cooperation and investment agreement with the Management Committee of the Changzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in China.

Trina plans to upgrade all of its manufacturing lines and technologies, build a production base for ultra-high power and efficiency panels, and enjoy the industrial advantages of the Changzhou high-tech park.

With this, it will expand its capacity based on the accumulated experience in new energy products, design, construction and operation and maintenance services, taking advantage of the continuous growth of the global photovoltaic market and the use of IoT (Internet of Things), Big Data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence in the energy sector.

Within the photovoltaic industry, the company promotes ultra-high power panels made with large-scale cells. Furthermore, it seeks to disseminate the advantages of modules with 210 mm cells.

The new line with a capacity of 15 GW will produce the series of modules Vertex, consisting of 500 W and 600 W ultra-high power panels.

The manufacturer had already announced the forecast of a total cell production capacity of 26 GW by the end of 2021, of which 70% should be represented by 210 mm cells.

Furthermore, Trina had also already announced that the entire expansion in module production capacity, to be built from the second half of this year, will be dedicated to ultra-high power panels, with the total production capacity expected to reach 22 GW by the end of 2020 and around 50 GW by the end of 2021.

Trina begins mass production of its 550W panels

Trina Solar also announced that it has started mass production of its 550W Vertex ultra-high power modules in Yancheng, Jiangsu province.

According to the company, the factory is equipped with advanced industrial infrastructure and facilities and highly automated and intelligent operating systems.

According to Trina, the 550W panels contain three important advanced technologies: multi-busbar design, non-destructive cutting and high-density packaging.

The production of the 550 W panel is a milestone, according to the manufacturer, which announced, in July this year, the 600W+ Vertex commercial module, the first in the world to break the 600 W power barrier.
