Trina Tracker, a subsidiary of Trina Solar, completed the process so that its wafer solar trackers can be included in Finame, a BNDES financing line with reduced interest that benefits products whose majority of components are produced in Brazil.

With this, solar project developers can purchase the Vanguard 1P model tracker with financing from BNDES. The equipment leads sales in Brazil, exceeding 1 GW, according to the manufacturer.

“Equipped with a self-learning Artificial Intelligence system, this tracker can automatically adjust the angle and movement of each line of solar panels, optimizing energy production, even during conditions of diffuse solar irradiation and on inclined terrain”, says Trina Tracker in press release.

According to the person responsible for the company in Latin America, Marcus Fabrino, depending on the conditions of the projects, energy generation gains can reach up to 8%.

Brazil was chosen to be the first country outside of China and Spain to receive its own Tina Tracker tracker factory. The new unit will be installed in Salvador, Bahia, with an initial capacity to produce 2.5 GW. An expansion of capacity is already in the plans. The new factory will meet local demand and other countries in Latin America.

The units in China and Spain have the capacity to produce 7.5 GW of trackers per year. With the entry into operation of the Brazilian factory, this production will be increased to 10 GW annually.
