Trina Tracker announced that, through a strategic stock of its products, it will be able to meet, with prompt delivery, the demand of customers in the DG (distributed generation) market in Brazil for solar trackers.

According to the Trina Solar Group company, the initiative aims to serve customers who fall under Law 14.300/22 – GD I, II and III projects. Also according to the company, the service model provides for prompt delivery of its products, thus ensuring greater agility in the installation and commissioning processes of solar plants.

The manufacturer informed that the tracker available in Brazil is the Vanguard 1P, a model that incorporates the latest technological advances and is the best-selling in the country, with local supply surpassing the 1 GW mark.

“Equipped with a self-learning Artificial Intelligence system, it is capable of adjusting the angle and movement of each row of solar panels, maximizing energy production during periods of diffuse solar irradiation and even on inclined terrain,” informed the company.

According to Marcus Fabrino, head of Trina Tracker for Latin America, generation gains range from 3 to 8%. He also points out that Trina Tracker's equipment is fully compatible with the photovoltaic modules developed by Trina Solar, as well as with those from other industries in the sector that use the latest technologies in manufacturing the product.

“In this way, the risk of a recurring problem in many solar plants is eliminated, which is the incompatibility between modules and trackers, a fact that negatively impacts energy generation,” added the company.

Vanguard 1P has bankability certificates and technical certificates that ensure performance excellence issued by the main international companies, such as CPP Wind and DNV.

Investment in Brazilian manufacturing

In August this year, Trina Tracker announced that Brazil was chosen to be the first country outside of China and Spain to have its own tracker factory. THE new factory is being installed in Salvador, capital of Bahia, and estimates are that the first supplies will occur from the first quarter of 2024.

Today, Trina Tracker has two industrial plants, one in the city of Changzhou, China, and the other in Viana, Spain, which together have the installed capacity to produce the equivalent of 7,5 GW in trackers per year. The Brazilian unit will have the capacity to produce 2,5 GW in trackers.

“Both the decision to build a stock of equipment and install a Trina Tracker factory in the country is yet another demonstration of Trina Solar's conviction regarding the growth potential of the Brazilian solar market. We invest heavily in local production and increasing qualification of our technicians with the aim of being close to our customers to understand their needs and serve them better. We believe that, in this way, we effectively contribute to the development of the photovoltaic sector”, highlights Alvaro García-Maltrás, President for Latin America at Trina Solar.
