A Trina Solar announced the achievement of two certificates from TÜV Rheinland for its Vertex 660 W solar panels. According to the company, this is the first time that a module manufacturer has obtained a double environmental protection certification.
For Zhao Mengyu, senior director of Trina's Quality Department, the achievement enhances the company's performance. “Since Trina’s founding, the company has been focused on innovation, reliability and consumer needs,” he said.
Chris Zou, Vice President of Solar Services at TÜV Rheinland China Mainland, congratulated the manufacturer on the certificates and said that high power and efficiency is the inevitable direction for panel development, and the most effective way to reduce energy consumption. LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy).
“The IEC certificate for Vertex 660 W+ panels is another significant advance achieved by Trina Solar, following the certificates received for its 550 W/600 W panels in September. This is not only a great innovation for them, but also an indicator of the tremendous odds for large power plants to reduce BOS (Balance of System) and LCOE costs, increasing returns,” Zou highlighted.
The Vertex family is comprised of five panel models – 400 W, 500 W, 550 W, 600 W and 660 W – suitable for a variety of versatile applications, including use on residential and commercial rooftops, power plants, and agricultural and fishing.
According to the manufacturer, the 660 W+ modules generate a power of 675 W, with a conversion efficiency of 21,7%.
“Vertex 660 W+ panels achieve greater reductions in BOS and LCOE costs. This will help accelerate the development of the photovoltaic industry, and in particular boost the company's efforts towards building a zero-carbon world,” Mengyu highlighted.
Trina also announced earlier this year a algorithm that can increase energy generation between 3% and 8%. Such effectiveness varies according to each project, the aspects of the terrain and the climate in each location.
