UFRR (Federal University of Roraima) inaugurated on Monday (22) its photovoltaic plant with 1.116 panels, which together add up to an installed power of 505,44 kWp. In addition to generating energy and reducing costs, the plant will serve as a scientific field for studies in renewable energy.
The project is installed in an area opposite the Amazon Border Center (CAF), with four inverters of 100 kW each and two 300 kVA substations, occupying an area of 2.300 m² on the Paricarana campus.
According to the rector of UFRR, José Geraldo Ticianeli, the implementation of the photovoltaic plant reiterates the university's commitment to sustainable and innovative practices.
“With this inauguration, we begin a new moment for our university through the use of clean and renewable energy. We will have a reduction in the cost of electricity consumption, in addition to being an important space for training academics in the technological area at UFRR”, highlights the rector.
