83 MWp plant will supply BH Supermarkets in self-production mode

Retail chain will open more stores in the state of MG with savings obtained from solar energy

"With the savings achieved by solar energy, it will be possible open more stores inside Minas Gerais state, in line with the company’s expansion plan”.

That's what he said Leonardo Lourenço, CEO of BH Supermarkets, which has more than 260 stores. The group inaugurated, on November 24th, a 83 MWp plant, located in Coromandel (MG).

According to Solatio, the company responsible for the project, the photovoltaic system will fully supply the retail network in the form of self-production of energy, reducing electricity costs and generating energy efficiency.

In total, R$ 282.2 million were invested in the construction of the project, which has annual generation of 168.3 GWh and is installed in an area of 152 hectares.

The plant, which began construction in January this year, generated 415 temporary and 40 permanent direct jobs. In total, 188,160 LONGi photovoltaic panels, 19 Sungrow inverters, 2,240 trackers and 14 SKIDS were used.
