Producing clean and cheaper energy were determining factors for the Geração vehicle dealership group to invest in the construction of a solar plant.

According to Evandro Elias de Carvalho, director of the group, the current water crisis and the consequent increase in electricity bills were determining factors in the decision.

“The increasingly latent scarcity of water resources, and the high cost of electricity, encouraged us to look for clean and renewable energy alternatives, contributing to the environment and our pockets”, he states.

According to the executive, the plant in Biguaçu, located in Florianópolis (SC), should start this month and bring annual savings of around R$ 220 thousand. The plant will serve 16 of the company's sales units, located in eight cities. The plant has 1260 Canadian 395 Wp modules, three 120kW ABB inverters.

“Photovoltaic energy systems provide a reduction of up to 95% in the electricity bill, in addition to being non-polluting”, explains Dilsonei Rigotti, manager of the solar energy area at Quantum Engineering, responsible for installation.

“The financial return on investment was a deeply analyzed criterion, and at the time of the decision it already proved to be favorable, clearly over 8 years we will feel the improvement in our pockets, and currently with the constant increases in electricity costs this return has certainly been reduced” , adds Evandro.
