Voltalia, an international player in renewable energy, was recognized by the Totum Institute as the company that issued the most REC Brazil certificates in 2024, with more than 1.4 million titles sold.
The award ceremony was held on Tuesday (25) during IREC Day Brazil 2025, the main event in the sector on IREC certifications. The achievement celebrates Voltalia's commercial performance in this segment and reflects the company's mission to create social and environmental value in the regions where it operates.
Currently, the Voltalia Voltalia Inc. exclusively sells RECs Brazil, since all of its projects are certified for this model and meet at least five SDGs. “We are very happy to receive this recognition, which reflects Voltalia's ongoing commitment to promoting the energy transition and decarbonization of the economy in Brazil.”

Among its main clients are Braskem, Itaú and Leroy Merlin, which have used RECs to mitigate their carbon emissions and support their sustainability actions.
To achieve this result, the company adopted a consolidated commercial strategy, based on long-term contracts with customers and strategic partnerships in the market. With a widely committed volume of RECs, the company is able to sell 100% of its production, keeping up with the national growth in demand for renewable energy certificates.
The REC Brazil renewable energy certificate stands out from the traditional I-REC due to its focus on meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This certification not only attests that the energy comes from renewable sources, but also details the degree of commitment of each project to socio-environmental aspects, such as inclusion and positive impact on the communities surrounding the power generation plants.
