ABSOLAR assumes vice-presidency of FASE

O PHASE (Forum of Electrical Sector Associations), one of the main groups of entities in the Brazilian segment, released the results of its presidential elections this Wednesday (26).

A The main novelty was the appointment, unanimously, in Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of ABSOLATE (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association), to occupy one of the two available seats in the vice presidency of the entity.

O executive assumes a one-year mandate – between the second half of 2024 and the first of 2025 – with the promise to support the development of the energy transition in the national electricity sector. 

“Our mission will be to contribute to the search for consensus among the members of the forum, with the main objective of strengthening the leading role that the Brazilian electricity system plays in Brazil’s growth and competitiveness”, said Sauaia.

O CEO of ABSOLAR also stressed that he will reinforce in his mandate the the country's need to value the technical attributes of each energy source so that they can all add up and add value to the sector and reasonable tariffs, for the benefit of consumers and Brazil's competitiveness.

“In our work, we will seek to advance the essential agendas and demands of the Brazilian electricity sector, in tune with the needs of Brazilian society”, highlighted the new vice-president of the group.

Nominations 

With the end of the elections, the presidency of FASE remained with Mário Menel, president of ABIAPE (Brazilian Association of Investors in Energy Self-production). O executive was re-elected by the board and will continue to command the entity. 

In the vice presidency, in addition to Rodrigo Sauaia, the group of entities also re-elected the name of Rodrigo Ferreira, president of HUG (Brazilian Association of Energy Traders), for another year in the position.

About FASE

Forum of Electrical Sector Associations I hadbeginning in 2013 with a movement of nine associations representing the energy generation, transmission, distribution, commercialization and consumption segments, as well as the electrical and electronic equipment production chains.

O main objective of the group – which currently brings together 33 entities in the national electricity sector – is to facilitate dialogue of the segment with bodies of the Federal Government and the National Congress.
