German photovoltaic module manufacturer AE Solar has developed an innovative technology that is further heating up the photovoltaic market.

According to the company, this is the world's first hot-spot-free and shading-resistant module for mass production.

According to the company, the panel with Hot-Spot Free technology protects each cell with an individual bypass diode. In other words, when the current of a single cell does not correspond to the current of the entire chain, it has a reverse voltage that activates its individual bypass diode.

Therefore, as a result, the remaining cells in the module will not be affected by the interruption of the shaded cell.

Available in the range of 260 W to 385 W, the products offer up to 30% more output power compared to conventional photovoltaic modules (which typically have only three bypass diodes) in real-world conditions, the manufacturer said.

AE Solar's Hot-Spot Free modules were awarded by PV Magazine in the “Top innovation 2018” category and were tested by the Fraunhofer CSP Institute, in Germany.

By the end of the year, AE Solar plans to launch its line of Supreme photovoltaic panel equipment with shade-resistant Hot-Spot Free technology in the United States.
