Salvador Airport will have a terminal powered by solar energy

The plant is expected to begin operations in the second half of February

The Vinci Aeroportos network invested around R$16 million to install a solar plant at Salvador International Airport. Located at the head of the airport runway, the plant will have the capacity to supply more than 30% of the terminal's annual energy consumption.

Frederico Mascarenhas, facilities coordinator at the Airport, explained that the technology used in the panels reduces reflection, avoiding interference with aircraft.

The plant is expected to begin operating in the second half of February. In total there will be 11 thousand solar modules with an estimated production capacity of 6,300 MWh per year.
