A Empaer (Mato-Grossense Research, Assistance and Rural Extension Company) prepared the first project of solar energy for Rural property of family farming, located in the municipality of Juara (695 km north of Cuiabá).
The expectation, according to the company, is that the photovoltaic energy system, with 16 modules, reduce expenses with the electricity bill up to 80%.
The project was designed for the Nossa Senhora Aparecida farm, which belongs to family farmer Evanei de Brito Lima. In area of 33 hectares, the property's main activity is beef cattle farming for breeding and rearing.
The site, according to Empaer, has 11 rotated paddocks and all with electric fences, to house 90 heads of Nelore cattle.
For the farmer's son, Maurílio Juiz, the future of the rural area is photovoltaic technology, which comes to reduce and boost the economy in the countryside.
Judge reported that the electricity bill paid was above R$ 200, but with the acquisition of solar energy, the expectation is pay less than R$ 40 per month.
He explains that all energy generated at the Site will also serve the house they own in the city. “With the implementation of the photovoltaic system, we became pioneers in the Esperancinha Community”.
“Our neighbors were interested and some have already started planning to install solar energy on their properties”, he emphasized.
More details about the project
Mayra de Alencar Costa, agricultural engineer at Empaer, explained that, with resources in the order of R$ 43 thousand, including equipment and labor, the project was financed by Pronaf Mais Alimentos, with a payment period of six years, with no waiting period. , at the request of the producer.
The plant has 6.4 kWp and is made up of 16 solar panels, which will supply the average monthly consumption of 750 kWh. The system has not yet been turned on and is just waiting for the meter clock to be installed by the electricity company.
Luciana Carla Freisleben, relationship manager at Banco do Brasil, highlighted that the credit line accessed to acquire the system was the Pronaf Bioeconomy line, with a payment period of up to 10 years, a five-year grace period and an interest rate of 5% per year.
Irrigation system
The farmers' intention is also to install an irrigation system for pasture production throughout the year. The idea is that photovoltaic panels will be used to power agricultural equipment and machinery, in addition to pumping water to irrigate crops and pastures.
“Solar was an option, not only to reduce operational costs but also to make processes here on the property more efficient,” concluded Judge.
