Agriculture in Goiás bets on solar energy to promote the sector

The region's nut industrializer also guarantees its own photovoltaic system
Companies from Goiás guaranteed installation of their own photovoltaic systems for energy generation

With an eye on the benefits provided by solar energy, companies in Goiás guaranteed the installation of their own photovoltaic systems to generate energy.

Located in the city of Iporá in Goiás, Camargos Agropecuárias installed 46 445 W modules, in addition to a 30 kW Renovigi inverter. The system was designed to serve three warehouses and one residence.

“Today, I spend approximately R$ 2 thousand [per month] on electricity, but with the project the estimate is to reduce these four bills to R$ 135, that is, just the maintenance fee from Enel, the concessionaire that operates in Goiás”, he ponders the owner Nelson Camargos, with good expectations. The company invested around R$ 92 thousand in the project.

The nut industrializer Castanha Cristal do Brasil, also from Iporá, invested in the new energy matrix and installed 108 445 W modules and 1 110 kW inverter. Before installation, the amount paid for energy consumption was more than R$ 6 thousand per month.

Like Camargos, one of the main intentions of Castanha Cristal do Brasil was to reduce costs. According to manager Ueliton Costa da Silva, the company expects to be able to pay only the minimum fee of R$ 135.

“I consider it a path of no return. The commitment of these entrepreneurs shows that, in addition to being a stimulus to reduce production costs, it is an example of environmental concern”, adds Calil Jose Rahal, director of Calil Solar, a Renovigi partner, and responsible for preparing and installing the projects.
