A Albiome, a French multinational operating in Brazil in the energy sector since 2014, made its bet on the solar DG (distributed generation) market with the acquisition of 31.6 MWp in operational plants in the states of São Paulo, Goiás, Piauí and Pernambuco.

According to the company, the movement is in line with its international diversification strategy

Its main objective is to consolidate and exponentially grow its presence in photovoltaic DG in Brazil through the acquisition of new operational plants and projects under development of the type GD I, that is, they have the vested right full compensation for all fare components of electrical energy until 2045.

“The remote minigeneration segment presents attractive returns and has already reached a level of regulatory maturity that gives us the security to grow. We want to significantly expand our portfolio of assets and projects in 2023 and 2024. We are long-term investors. We want to acquire and operate the assets for an indefinite period”, he highlighted. Christiano Formam, CEO of Albioma in Brazil.

For this strategic move, the Albioma hired Watt Capital as exclusive financial advisor, specialized in the renewable sector in Brazil. “Our role is to find the most competitive projects and plants in operation whose sales value makes sense for our client”, he stated Eduardo Tobias, managing partner.

Also according to the CEO of Albioma in Brazil, Albioma has the strategy of forming clusters of assets, aiming to gain scale in the implementation and management of plants.

“For projects to be built (greenfield), we will prioritize the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Distrito Federal, Ceará, Piauí, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and, in São Paulo, the CPFL Piratininga and Paulista areas. In the case of plants in operation, there is no geographic restriction. We will evaluate any plant from 1 MW onwards”, concluded Formam.
