A Amazon announced that will add 2.7 GW in capacity of energy production through the installation of 71 new renewable sources projects around the world, one of which will be the construction of the first solar energy farm from the company in Brazil.
O project its location was not revealed, but, according to the retailer, will have 122 MW of capacity and will generate 850 jobs during the construction phase. After the works are completed, around 30 permanent vacancies will be created to keep the plant in operation.
Still according to the company, the project must also include investments of more than R$ 2 million in environmental programs during the construction process, aiming to promote biodiversity.
With the implementation of this and other new projects, The Amazon will now have 379 clean energy projects spread across the planet. O goal is to use energy renewable at 100% of its business until 2025.
By then, the company expects to generate 50,000 GWh of clean energy across its entire portfolio, enough, for example, to power around 4.6 million homes per year.
In addition to the Brazilian farm, other prominent projects include: three large-scale plants in the Indian state of Rajasthan, with a capacity of 420 MW, and on rooftops in France and Austria, in addition to the multinational's first solar park in Poland.
