At a meeting of the board of directors of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), this Tuesday (17), it was unanimously decided to open a period of Public Consultation between October 19 and December 16 (60 days) with a view to receiving contributions to the impact analysis report on regulation for electrical energy storage, including pumped storage hydroelectric plants.
Such storage solutions will serve to improve the energy transmission system, which includes the use of pumped storage plants as a tool to support the sustainable energy transition. Reversible plants are those that store excess electricity generated by the kinetic energy of the water used in the turbines of hydroelectric plants.
Sandoval Feitosa, general director of Aneel, highlighted that the cost of energy storage in the country is expected to fall by 67% by 2050. Among the reasons for the investment, the growing demand for energy, the greater generation of renewable resources and the tendency to shift the energy matrix.
Approved rate adjustments
At the same meeting, also unanimously, the tariff review of Piratininga Força e Luz (with an average effect of 4.37%), EDP SP (effect of 6.83%) and Equatorial Energia Goiás was approved, with an increase of 3.54% for the consumer.
