ANEEL approves adjustments to the electricity bill in São Paulo, Goiás and the Federal District

New values come into force from next week for more than eight million consumer units

A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved, this Tuesday (17), adjustments to the electricity bill in four dealerships in São Paulo, Goiás and the Federal District. 

The new ones Prices come into effect from next week and will be applied for more than eight million consumer units in the concession areas of EDP São Paulo; CPFL Piratininga; Equatorial Goiás and Neoenergia Brasília. 

The two concessionaires in São Paulo and the one in Goiás did not have their adjustments made through the RTA (Annual Tariff Adjustment), but, yes, for the RTP (Periodic Tariff Review).

In this process, adjustments are calculated more broadly, every four or five years, and take into account not only inflation and energy purchase costs, but also issues such as meeting quality targets, efficiency and energy losses.

The readjustments

At EDP São Paulo, the average adjustment will be 6.83%, being 6.28% for high voltage and 7.12% for low voltage. The concessionaire supplies energy to around 2 million consumer units in 28 municipalities in São Paulo, in the regions of Alto Tietê and Vale do Paraíba and the North Coast.

At Equatorial Goiás, the average effect for consumers will be 3.54%, with an increase of 7.08% for low voltage customers and a reduction of 5.3% for high voltage customers. The distributor serves 3.3 million consumer units in 243 municipalities in the state. 

At Neoenergia Brasilia, which serves 1.15 million consumer units in the Federal District, the average adjustment will be 9.32%, being 7.78% for high voltage consumers and 9.95% for low voltage. 

Already the CPFL Piratininga it will be the only one of the four distributors that the average adjustment will be negative (-4.37%). In the company's concession area, which covers 1.8 million units in 27 municipalities in the interior and coast of São Paulo, you high and low voltage customers will see a reduction of -11.4% and -0.1%, respectively. 

Check below the average adjustments, considering all consumer groups:

  • Neoenergia Brasilia: 9.32%, as of October 22;
  • Equatorial GO: 3,54%, as of October 22;
  • EDP São Paulo: 6.83%, as of October 23;
  • CPFL Piratininga: -4.37%, as of October 23.
