At the Brazil, the year of 2023 surpassed the mark 500 thousand solar energy generation systems installed in the segment of G.D. (distributed generation), show data updated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

According to the Regulatory Body, between January 1st and October 23rd, there were more than 497.7 thousand connections accounted for in microgeneration (with up to 75 kW of power) and 11.6 thousand in minigeneration (between 75 kW and 3 MW).

This is already the second best result Yearly the history of the segment – which, for now, is second only to the same period last year. In 2022, there were just over 609 thousand solar DG systems connected between January 1st and October 23rd.

As expected, the residential consumers are the ones who lead the use of solar energy distributed in number of systems connected to the network (387 thousand) in 2023. Next come small businesses in the commerce and services sectors, with 53 thousand connections.

Between the States, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Bahia were those that installed the most solar DG systems in the year, with 83.9 thousand; 58.1 thousand; 46.8 thousand; 37.5 thousand; and 26.3 thousand, respectively.

All these data presented just reinforce consumer interest Brazilians to generate your own energy, in order to no longer be held hostage by the consecutive increases in energy tariff prices that have been occurring for years.

It is worth remembering that, specifically in 2023, the Brazilian distributed solar energy market faced a challenging first half of the year due to a series of factors, such as the high interest rate (almost three times above inflation) and the difficulty in approving credit. with banks and financial institutions.

For market analysts, if it weren't for these factors, the segment would be presenting even better numbers this year compared to current ones.

Adding the total number of DG photovoltaic systems installed since the beginning of the source's expansion in Brazil, there are already more than 2 million connections in operation and, together, benefit more than 3.1 million consumer units across the country.
