Electricity sector authorities discuss innovation at event in SP

O Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo (SP), receives this Wednesday (5) and Thursday (6) the CIDE (Electrical Energy Distribution Innovation Congress) 2024

Organized by Grupo O Setor Elétrico and Instituto Abradee da Energia, the event will bring together executives, managers and specialists from the areas of research and development, technology and innovation, distribution networks, energy planning, asset management, digitalization and cybersecurity.

CIDE 2024 expects to welcome 700 people and aims to provide a creative environment where the main exponents of the electricity sector will discuss the latest trends and challenges faced in energy distribution, especially in the context of the global energy transition. 

Among the topics that will be covered during the congress are the evolution of distribution networks, the challenges of digitalization and cybersecurity, energy planning strategies for a more sustainable future, and best asset management practices in the electrical industry.

Among the authorities present will be Marcos Madureira, president of Abradee (Brazilian Association of Electricity Distributors); Ricardo Tili, director of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency); Tarcísio Estefano Rosa, president of Celesc; Alessandra Amaral, executive director of the Association of Latin American Electricity Distributors; Edvaldo Santana, former director of Aneel and energy consultant; Fernando Maia, vice-president of Regulation at Energisa; Roberta Nanini, director of Regulation at Cemig; Carmem Silvia Sanches, deputy secretary of the ANEEL Innovation and Energy Transition Secretariat; Reinaldo da Cruz Garcia, from EPE's Electric Energy Studies Directorate; Evelyn Mendes Reis, Regulation Manager at Amazonas Energia; and Fabiane Horongoso, Regulation Manager at Celesc.

The event will feature lectures and discussion panels with prominent names, such as Nizan Guanaes, publicist and businessman; Michael Spoor, consultant and former VP of Florida Power Light; specialist Paulo Radatz, from EPRI, a North American research institution in the electrical sector; and Rosana Santos, executive director of Instituto E+ Transição Energética. Furthermore, the presence of startups and technology companies will bring an innovative perspective on the challenges of the electricity sector.
