Banco do Brasil inaugurates four solar energy plants

The plants are located in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Paraná

The Bank of Brazil opened in 2022 four more solar power plants, these being: Xique-Xique, in Bahia, Rio Paranaíba, in Minas Gerais, Loanda, in Paraná, and Lins, in São Paulo

The banking institution already operates seven plants. The first two were opened in 2020, in Porteirinhas, Minas Gerais, and in São Domingos do Araguaia, in For. Another system was inaugurated this year in Naviraí, Mato Grosso do Sul.

New ventures have 23 MWp and will offset the energy consumption of 365 branches. In total, the bank will stop emitting around 3 thousand tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere per year. 

According to BB, the project will continue to expand in the coming years, as Banco do Brasil has more 22 photovoltaic plants in the contracting phase or under construction.

Photovoltaic power generation projects has social counterparts. Contracted companies develop actions to benefit local communities, such as tree planting and installation of panels in entities.
