O Banco do Nordeste will allocate R$ 20 million in non-refundable resources for research and innovation in renewable energy, especially for the development of the green hydrogen industry.

The expectation is to contribute to the generation of greater operational efficiency, economic competitiveness and sustainable development for enterprises located in the financial institution's coverage area, which includes, in addition to the Northeastern states, part of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo.

To access Notice of the Scientific and Technological Development Fund (Fundeci) 01/2023 – Renewable Energy, projects must have an execution period of between 12 and 36 months and address at least one of the defined thematic lines:

  • production, storage, transport and use of green hydrogen;
  • technological innovation in renewable energy production chains;
  • reduced dependence on the hydraulic matrix;
  • reduction in the need to use thermoelectric plants in times of water crisis;
  • research, technological development and innovation focused on expanding, reducing impacts, integrating or internalizing the sector's production chains.

Each project can receive financial support between R$ 100 thousand and R$ 1 million, intended to pay for human resources, equipment and permanent material, outsourced services, consumables, among others.

Registration is now open and will remain available until October 24th, through the Banco do Nordeste website. The results of the first phase of project selection will be announced on November 7th.
