Brazil and France sign an agreement to strengthen energy transition in both countries

Strategic partnership between associations aims to combat climate change and reinforce investments in renewable energy

A ABSOLATE (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association) signed a agreement of cooperation as Syndicat Des Energies Renouvelables, one of France's leading organizations in renewable energy, electrical energy storage and other sustainable technologies.

A partnership aims reinforce the international collaboration between the two countries, in order to promote the development, growth and use of solar energy and synergistic technologies (including energy storage, green hydrogen, microgrids, minigrids, renewable electricity baseload generation and others) in combating climate change.

O agreement, celebrated during the 2023 Intersolar Europe, the largest European solar exhibition and conference, held in Munich, Germany, also aims to encourage the technological exchange of products, as well as expanding the attracting new investments, generating job and income and creating business opportunities. 

“This agreement further strengthens relations between the Brazilian and French solar energy markets, contributing to new opportunities for both markets and providing win-win growth for the social, economic and environmental development of both countries,” said Rodrigo Sauaia , CEO of ABSOLAR.

Historical partners

Historically, France has always been one of Brazil's main trading partners, with numerous French companies and investments active in the renewable energy and electricity sectors in Brazil, as explained by Xavier Daval, president of Solar Commission and VP of Syndicat Des Energies Renouvelables

“France and Brazil have a long tradition of partnership in the energy sector. Even though we are on two different continents, we both share a strong experience and are eager to share our knowledge about new energies such as solar or hydrogen,” he said.
