O Brazil already installed more than 150 thousand solar energy systems in the segment of distributed micro and minigeneration only in 2023, indicate data recorded by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
It is a volume of units that, in less than three months, already overcome O number of connections computed over for the entire year 2019, which registered 123.8 thousand installations between the months of January and December.
Currently, the Brazil has more than 1.78 million photovoltaic systems own generation since 2012 – date on which the expansion of the source began in the country, with the publication of the Normative Resolution No. 482.
Currently, the number of systems installed between January 1st and March 20th of this year it's just not bigger, at the moment, that the number of systems installed in the last three full years: there were 226.4 thousand in 2020; 458 thousand in 2021 and 768 thousand in 2022.
In all other years (from January to December), the volume of photovoltaic connections in Brazil was lower than at the beginning of the year – which proves that the solar DG market will continue to heat up and break records throughout this and the coming years.
Mário Viana, commercial and marketing director at Sou Energy, explains that in the first two months of the year Sales of solar energy systems even had a negative impact, because sellers needed a few days to understand that “the cost of Fio B has very little impact on the lives of their customers”, he commented.
However, he highlighted that, quickly, in March, business began to return to previous levels, which will mean that the sector will continue to “have a market for many, many years”, he stressed.
