BYD lança módulo de 400 Wp com eficiência de até 22,6%

The manufacturer BYD Brazil launched the 400 Wp monocrystalline module for the Brazilian photovoltaic market. Production of the panels began at its factory located in Campinas (SP).

According to the company, due to the efficiency of the new photovoltaic cells, which is 22.6%, it is possible to produce the modules without changing the size of the panel or carrying out any type of adaptation in the production line.

With this, a more efficient product is obtained, which generates more energy, containing the same size and dimensions compared to similar imported products sold in Brazil.

For Adalberto Maluf, Director of Marketing and Sustainability at BYD Brasil, production in the national territory brings several advantages, including stock availability, security in quality control, better guarantee, local service structure and specialized technical support.

“It is an unprecedented achievement for BYD to produce 400 Wp monocrystalline modules nationwide. Brazil needs to increasingly expand the silicon production chain in the country to generate local jobs and develop new technologies in the country”, he states.

“The manufacturing of this module in Brazil is progress not only for BYD, but for all our customers, who will be served with excellent performance and a product more adapted to the Brazilian climate and the needs of the Brazilian market”, adds Maluf.

Growing demand and job creation

With strong demand, BYD recorded growth of more than 40% in the sales of modules in the second half of 2020. As a result, the company recently opened a second shift in its factory, hiring around 60 new employees, who joined the 350 employees current.

Maluf highlights that the commercialization of new modules in Brazil meets a real need for humanity: changing human dependence on non-renewable energy to clean energy.

“Photovoltaic solar energy is the fastest growing source in the world and that generates the most integrated economic and social development. The solar source is one of the sectors that generate the most employment in the country and brings one of the greatest potential for the future of Brazil. In 2021 alone, there will be 147 thousand new jobs across the country”, explains Maluf.

According to him, BYD foresees growth in the coming months and does not rule out the possibility of new hires, whether for its manufacturing unit or other sectors of its headquarters in the interior of São Paulo.
