BYD suspenderá temporariamente a produção de módulos policristalinos

BYD announced that it will temporarily suspend production of its 335W polycrystalline photovoltaic modules (model P6K) at its factory located in Campinas (SP). According to the manufacturer, the last production batch of this model will be until September 17th.

Also according to the company, the production of 400W monocrystalline modules (model M7K) will also be pending, which will be produced until October 29th. BYD also stated that there is no prospect for the production of new units of these modules in the short term.

“The interruption in the production of the P6K and M7K product families is necessary due to the expected changes in the increase in BYD’s current production capacity, aiming to meet growing market demands,” the company said in a note.

“In order to avoid any type of inconvenience or adversity caused by the lack of product for projects that are in the approval and/or negotiation phase, BYD Energy do Brasil increased its stock of these modules, allowing its partners to issue new purchase orders ”, concluded the note.

“Due to the rapid technological evolution in the solar photovoltaic sector, BYD decided to invest to expand local production capacity for higher efficiency modules, thus reaffirming its long-term commitment to the national market and to the development of new technologies in the Brazil”, added Adalberto Maluf, director of Marketing, Sustainability and New Business at BYD.
