The tourist city of Capitol (MG) received the first free charging point for EVs (electric vehicles) powered by solar energy. Through the initiative of Solarprime It's from Turvo Group, two 7 kW single-phase chargers were installed in the Turvo Restaurant, located on Rodovia MG 050, Km 306.

The model installed in the establishment has Full charging time is very quick compared to a regular recharge (around 20h on a residential socket) and can vary between 6h and 12h, depending on the type of battery in each vehicle.

The chargers will be powered by a solar plant, installed by Solarprime, which will be active from this month. The system has 102 550 Wp modules, totaling 56.1 kWp of installed capacity. The plant will generate an average of 7,262 kWh/month, which will give, on average, savings of R$ 5.5 thousand per month.

According to Raphael Brito, founding partner of Solarprime, Capitol is a city that already has the structure to receive vehicles and could become an important “electric corridor”, connecting the tourist region to large cities.

“Minas Gerais is a state with great potential and has seen an increase in the number of EVs in recent years. The idea is to continue the partnership by installing other charging points in the state, adding value to commercial establishments and offering a new service that will contribute to the environment”, he highlighted.

For Brito, these businesses could have very important savings in the long term, installing mini-plants like they did in the restaurant.

“We receive many tourists from the cities of Campinas (SP) and Ribeirão Preto (SP), which together have more than 2,600 EVs,” said Kaio Heitor Pádua, owner of the restaurant.

“There is a growing demand and together with Solarprime we created this option to ensure more comfort for our customers and tourists who come to visit the Capitol”, he emphasized.
