The Government of Ceará inaugurated, last Thursday (30), a 400 kWp solar plant, in Ceará Worker Training Center (CTTC/IFCE).
The project has 1,800 square meters of area covered by 895 solar panels, cables and electrical inverters distributed over blocks C, D and E of the Center.
According to the Ceará government, currently, the inaugurated plant is considered the largest public photovoltaic generation project in the state.
Located in Pecém, the structure will generate energy for use on the CTTC premises and also at Secitece (Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher Education of the State), in Fortaleza.
The state of Ceará estimates that the plant will bring annual savings of R$ 360 thousand in current energy expenses. In addition to saving on electricity bills, the plant will serve as a basis for training professionals in the area of renewable energy in a partnership with IFCE, also involving companies in the region.
For the construction of the plant, almost R$ 1.3 million were invested, obtained through an agreement signed between the Government of Ceará, through Secitece, and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations.
The project is part of the first stage of a project that foresees the creation of the Renewable Energy Complex at CTTC and the installation of a teaching and service laboratory, to meet the demands of the Pecém region. In total, R$ 6 million will be allocated to the project.
