Cade (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) approved, last Thursday (14), the sale of CEB Distribuição to Bahia Geração de Energia, a company in the Neoenergia group.

The Federal District distributor had 51% of shares sold at auction, for R$ 2.525 billion. The contract is expected to be signed on February 25 this year.

The sale had a premium – additional value charged in financial operations – of 76.63%, after a dispute with CPFL, which offered R$ 2.508 billion.

According to Cade, the minimum bid for the purchase was set at R$ 1.423 billion, a value almost equal to the company's short-term liabilities, which total R$ 1.453 billion.
