CEI (Companhia Energética Integrada) from Minas Gerais and NPIM (Nebras Power Investment Management BV), a full affiliate of Nebras Power QPSC – Qatar's energy investment group – announced a partnership to promote the growth of the electricity sector in Brazil.

A joint venture consists of a new brand that will already operate and manage 18 hydroelectric plants in the country – totaling 72 MW of installed power – a portfolio of more than 13 GW in photovoltaic projects and BEI – an operation, maintenance and engineering company for generation plants of electricity.

Another highlighted point is that the agreement aims to accelerate the company's growth through acquisitions of operational assets and development and construction of greenfield projects, which refer to new ventures.

“This partnership consolidates the CEI group’s expansion path in the energy market. It has enormous potential at a time of major transformations in the segment, which will open up even more opportunities”, said Romero Ferreira, CEO of CEI Energética.

“CEI has in its DNA the constant search for innovation and growth, operating in the generation, development, commercialization and provision of services in the electricity sector. We believe in the country’s evolution and we want to be protagonists of this”, he added.

According to Mohammed Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Nebras Power, for the group, boosting the growth of the Brazilian energy market highlights the main goal, which is to identify and invest in profitable and vibrant opportunities in both developed and emerging segments.

“We are proud to form this company that will help strengthen the energy sector in Brazil and provide clean, reliable electricity while providing an economic boost to local communities,” he emphasized.

“What we are witnessing is a new milestone for Nebras. This co-venture is the culmination of hard work and strategic planning and will leverage our talent and experience to develop and oversee a wide variety of sustainable electricity projects. Furthermore, it will considerably expand Nebras’ reach in Brazil and strengthen our portfolio and regional ambitions in Latin America”, he concluded.

Both Nebras and CEI plan to include the adoption of innovative technologies and a commitment to sustainable construction, providing dedicated energy solutions for homes and industries.
