Cemig acquires stake in six solar plants for R$ 37.2 million

A Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais) reported, this Friday (08), that Cemig SIMyour company dedicated to the DG (distributed generation) segment of energy, acquired 49%'s stake in companies that own six photovoltaic generation.

In a statement, the Minas Gerais company highlighted that it is disbursing around R$ 37.2 million to carry out the acquisition of these assets with the aim of reinforcing its “company's strategy of sustainable growth in the distributed generation market” in Brazil.

The shares of the companies G2 Energia and Apolo Empreendimentos e Energia were acquired, which currently have solar plants in operation in the municipality of Lavras, in the interior of the State of Minas Gerais.

In total, the six plants total just over 18.5 MWp of power and will, together, serve around 1,800 customers in the low voltage residential, commercial and industrial markets.

Solar and wind energy notice

In addition to purchasing these plants, Cemig launched this week, more precisely on Thursday (07), a new notice for the purchase of wind and solar projects.

Projects must have a total installed capacity of at least 50 MW and must have a grant issued by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), being eligible for the 50% discount from TUSD/TUST, or have filed the grant request by the day February 28th this year.  

Registration can be made, upon expression of interest and sending of requested documents, until June 14th. The selection of projects will be carried out using criteria described in the notice, including characteristics and price.
