Increase in polysilicon affects Daqo sales forecast

Daqo, a manufacturer of monocrystalline silicon and polysilicon, announced that it has lowered its sales forecast for the third quarter, which was from around 17,500 tons to 13,643 tons.

According to the company, the measure was taken because the rapid increase in the price of polysilicon – from US$ 7 to US$ 7.50 per kilogram in the second quarter to the current US$ 11.50 to US$ 12.50 – has delayed orders in the last three months .

However, the manufacturer expects excess inventory to be liquidated in the current quarter due to strong demand from the global PV market. As a result, Daqo also updated its annual production forecast, from 73,000 to 75,000 tons to 75,000 to 76,000 tons.
