A coverage of a gas station, which has a photovoltaic system installed, collapsed on the afternoon of this Monday (02) in the city of Baixo Guandu, inside the Holy Spirit.

According to witnesses, at the time of the fall it was raining heavily at the establishment, located on Avenida Carlos de Medeiros, in the central region of the municipality. There were no victims.

To the The cause of the accident has not yet been disclosed, but, according to experts, the hypothesis is that there was no study or structural reinforcement adequate which ensured that the station's structure could support the weight of the panels, plus the weight of rain and the stress of gusty winds.

“It should be checked whether the structural report was carried out. If this was done, whether structural reinforcement was indicated and whether it was carried out properly”, they analyzed.

A source heard by Solar Channel, who went to the site of the collapse, commented that There may have been an error during installation. “The plates are in front of the structure, which would be a cantilever beam.”

“Generally, the station has no structure, reinforcement has to be made to place the modules. Reinforcement must not have been done and they also put too much in front. If they had tried to balance it, playing more in the middle of the columns, this accident probably wouldn't have happened”, he explained.

“They were removing the shading from the system installed at the station, which has a building around it. In this case, they threw the entire structure onto the tip, and I believe that with the weight of the structure, the rain, and the water collected in the gutter, the roof ended up giving way”, he concluded.
