Colibri Capital acquires Sirius and enters the DG market

Colibri Group has already invested more than R$ 1 billion in the energy sector

A Colibri Capital announced the acquisition of Sirius, a marketer of photovoltaic kits based in Recife (PE). 

The agreement provides for investment of R$ 30 million in the company and marks the group's entry into the market for distributing equipment aimed at GD (distributed generation), in addition to boosting its geographic expansion, as Sirius operates in 24 of the 26 Brazilian states.

“Acquiring Sirius allows Colibri Capital penetrate and expand in the solar energy with an arm that it did not yet have in its portfolio of companies. And with the detail of not starting from zero, since Sirius has an active business base”, he pointed out Carlos Eduardo Barros, president of Colibri Capital.

Currently, Colibri Capital has in its scope the companies E1 Energia, Eco Soluções and GDSolar. “With Sirius, this ecosystem can benefit from the feedback of services, without having to resort to a company outside the group”, added Barros. 

Founded in 2019, the Colibri Group earns more than R$ 200 million per year and has invested more than R$ 1 billion in the energy sector. The company already has 100 solar plants, with more than 1 million panels installed in all states in Brazil.

“With Colibri, we want to become a reference in the Northeast market, starting from Pernambuco, bringing more capillarity to the distribution network and expanding stock potential. The market revolves around those who have ready delivery”, he highlighted. Bruno Fraga, CEO of Sirius. 

“In addition, we can now forge partnerships with the biggest players in the world market and we started working with other companies in the group that operate in the solar energy sector, forming an ecosystem for exchanging information and accessing suppliers”, he added.

“We will also have an entire back office six times the size of our office, to deal with all legal, administrative, HR issues and all the structure that is needed to develop in an even more orderly way”, added Fraga.

Sirius started in Pernambuco, in 2019, and quickly conquered markets in the North and Northeast states, without the need for leverage.

The company has recorded a turnover of more than R$ 110 million in the last three years. The distributor has a history in its portfolio with the largest suppliers in the world, with Deye, ZNShine and SolarEdge.
