According to a survey carried out by the bank for condominiums CondoConta, Brazilians' concern about electricity bills and the environment has led to a greater demand for investments than in other areas, such as security.
According to the fintech, 22% of the total credit requests are aimed at installing solar panels, compared to only 12% for security improvements and 2% for installing remote entrances.
“In addition to benefiting the environment, we know that installing solar panels also provides savings in the long term, including paying for the investment made”, comments Rodrigo Della Rocca, CEO and co-founder of CondoConta.
“Furthermore, in Brazil we have the advantage of the climate, which facilitates the installation of clean energy in condominiums”, he highlights.
In 2022 alone, fintech provided more than R$100 million in condominium credit, with R$ 11 million in financing for Brazilian condominiums, where R$ 4.3 million occurred in the first quarter of the same year.
The municipality of São Paulo is among the cities that more people apply for credit for infrastructure works, renovations, photovoltaic installations and security, with more than R$ 2.7 million in 2022.
Florianópolis is next, with R$ 2.2 million and Recife, with more than R$1.4 million in financing requests.
With the document sanctioned at the beginning of 2022, which changed rules for shared generation, from now on the Law 14,300 provides that condominiums or other forms of civil association can also constitute this generation model.
