CPFL invests R$ 16 million in energy efficiency in hospitals in the 1st quarter

Investments benefited institutions in the interior of the states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul

A CPFL Energy invested about R$ 16 million of reais in energy efficiency actions in hospitals at the first quarter of 2023 through “CPFL and RGE in Hospitals”.

In total, seven health units benefited from the installation of photovoltaic systems to generate solar energy.

Among the health units that had energy efficiency works completed are the hospitals Santa Casa de Duartina, Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Ituverava, Hospital Das Clínicas da Unicamp, in Campinas; and the Governador Mario Covas Municipal Hospital and Maternity Hospital, in Hortolândia, all in the interior of São Paulo, in the CPFL concession area.

With the actions taken, the company estimates savings of around R$ 770 thousand per year, in electricity, in hospitals.  

The social actions were carried out in 18 hospitals in the interior of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul in the cities of São Vicente (SP), Santos (SP), Jundiaí (SP), São Leopoldo (RS), Veranópolis (RS), areas of concession from CPFL Piratininga, RGE and Porto Alegre (RS).

For the year 2023, the planned investment was R$ 53.3 million reais in actions for hospitals, and R$ 4.3 million by the CPFL Institute in hospital humanization actions.
