Cost of wafers, modules and cells fall in the international market in April

Photovoltaic cells and wafers have been experiencing falls In yours prices at the international market throughout the month of April, according to data from InfoLink Consulting, analyzed by Canal Solar.

Between the wafers, the cost of technology type P in 182mm suffered a reduction in order 2,85% per month: from US$ 0.211 to US$ 0.205 per unit. 

The average price of wafers in the P-type in 210mm fell from US$ 0.287 to US$ 0.262 in the period, a reduction of 8.7%

According to the consultancy, the price of the component has fallen due to a constant increase in production, increasing supply without that there is a growth close or equivalent on demand.

When it comes to the prices of cells, the main reduction observed occurred with the type P, which fell from US$ 0.052/W to US$ 0.047/W in April, which represented a decrease of 9.6% at the average price. In turn, TOPCon technology cells fluctuated just US$ 0.002/W in the month.

Furthermore, the modules also had their reduced costs in the period, both PERC and N-type technology.

You PERC models, both 182 mm and 210 mm, had a slight fall in April: both fell from US$ 0.12/W to US$ 0.115/W.

Solar modules of TOPCon technology suffered a slightly bigger drop: from US$ 0.13/W to US$ 0.12/W. The price of HJT models went from US$ 0.145/W to US$0.14/W in the period. 

The differences were due to fluctuations in the rest of the production chain, added to different strategies taken by manufacturers, according to InfoLink Consulting.
