A demand of inputs and components of the global photovoltaic chain continues slow. However, prices in general, remained stable last week. This is what the bulletin says InfoLink From this week.

The consultancy pointed out that the production plans presented reductions It is just prices for chunked polysilicon, 210mm N-type wafers, and cells G12R TOPCon fell punctually.

The projections of the polysilicon production fell around 7% to 9% in relation to the last month, reaching the range of 75-76 GW. In recent weeks the sales value fell in a constant and significant way, reaching a level lower than the production cost. As a result, more and more manufacturers have cut production or restricting inventories.

Last week, the price of polysilicon in pieces sold in China fell around 1.2%, going from US$ 5.59/kg to around US$ 5.52/kg, while the granular kept in US$ 5.11/kg. The input coming from outside China continued with its price at US$ 21.5/kg.

Check out the other highlights this week in this week's InfoLink Bulletin.

Wafers

Amid the constant drop in wafer prices this year, several producers began to cut production. According to InfoLink, these reductions still did not begin to affect production, which came in at 63-64 GW – around just 2-3 GW below previous estimates.

Also according to the consultancy, drastic changes are expected in June. Production of 51-52 GW is expected, which would represent a fall of about 20% compared to the previous month.

The 210 mm N-type wafers suffered a reduction of the selling cost of the order 5,6% for about US$ 0.23 per piece.

Cells

Cell production in May was in the order of 64-65 GW, around 3-4 GW less than the latest projections.

Due to module manufacturers' plans, vertically integrated cell producers will cut production in June. Monthly production in June should be in the order of 56-57 GW, a fall in 10% in relation to May.

In relation to this component, the only price variation was from cells G12R TOPCon that reached the level of US$ 0.047/W.

Modules

Module manufacturers expected that GC projects (centralized generation) lead demand in May and June. Although, delays in some projects resulted in a reduced growth of demand.

The market observed few deliveries this week out of caution. As a result, prices stabilized.

Bifacial PERC modules in China ranged from US$ 0.11/W to US$ 0.12/W, while those sold on the international market maintained their price at US$ 0.105.

Meanwhile, TOPCon modules are in the price range of US$ 0.115/W in the international market and US$ 0.12/W in China. HJT modules in China were sold at US$ 0.15/W and at US$ 0.14/W in the rest of the world.
