For the first time since 2019, Intersolar South America opened its doors at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo. The team at Solar Channel is covering the event and brings all the details of the largest fair in the Latin American solar sector. Stay tuned for our live updates throughout the three days of exhibitions.

Presentation conference

In a press conference to present the event, this Monday morning (18), Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association) welcomed the guests and highlighted that solar energy is today an instrument more than which is fundamental to the country's economic and social recovery, amid the pandemic and water crisis.

“The year 2021 has proven to be challenging. As if the pandemic emerging unexpectedly in 2020 was not enough, this year we also had a drop in rainfall. The little rain reduced the levels of the reservoirs and meant that the country reached the point of activating all of its emergency fossil thermoelectric plants so that society would not be left without electricity”, he highlighted.

According to him, all this volume of energy generated from the burning of mineral coal has already generated an increase of more than 20% in Brazilian consumers' electricity bills this year alone. “According to experts in the electricity sector, more than R$ 28 billion were added to Brazilian consumers' electricity bills, an increase that represents three to four times the year's inflation,” he commented.

In this scenario of uncertainty, he classified three pillars that he considers fundamental and that need to be followed by the Federal Government so that solar energy grows even further and helps reduce electricity bills, and increases the population's purchasing power. They are: greater communication with society about the benefits that solar can provide, more alternatives for financing photovoltaic systems and a reduction in taxes to attract investments and greater consumer adoption.

“The future is solar and opportunities are knocking on our door. With the 11 GW we recently achieved, we have already generated more than R$ 57 billion in investments for the country, 330 thousand jobs, a reduction of 12.5 million tons of greenhouse gases and a collection of more than R$ 15 for public coffers. 2 billion. These are striking social, economic and social contributions that technology is beginning to bring to our country”, he highlighted.

New charging system is highlighted at the SMA stand

SMA, a German company that operates in the solar systems market, brought solutions aimed at the electric mobility segment to its stand. The novelty was the presentation of the EV-Charger vehicle charger.

The equipment, presented as an integrated solution with the Audi E-Tron, has a Connect charging system that can be installed in smart homes. Unlike a fixed charging station, the system can be used on the go.

Thanks to its standard mains connection cable, the Audi E-Tron can be charged using all conventional and three-phase household sockets with a power of up to 22 kW.

Bluesun bets on hybrid inverters and storage

Present at another edition of Intersolar, Bluesun – a company that operates in the photovoltaic equipment distribution segment – invested in the presentation of new hybrid inverters with batteries. The technology is the result of a partnership with Dyness and will soon be launched on the Brazilian market.

“We believe that the next steps for solar energy in Brazil will involve hybrid inverters. We are just waiting for some regulations in the Chinese market for this equipment to be with us here in Brazil”, said Roberto Caurim, CEO of the company in Brazil.

Brametal presents two-row Bratracker and other products

Brametal, a company that manufactures hot-dip galvanized metal structures for the generation and transmission of electrical energy, showed at its stand more details about the “bi-line Bratracker” – the company's new launch – as well as other products for the segment during the first day from Intersolar.

According to the company, the new technology supports up to 124 portrait (vertical) panels without the need for field welding or special tools. The equipment is also compatible with other types of panels, including bifacial ones.

In addition to the two-row Bratracker, Bramatel is also presenting at the event the BRAFIX, a line of fixed-type supports made up of structures that can be single-post (with foundation per section) or two-post (with two foundations per section), and the Single-row Bratracker – one product does not require field welding and holds up to 90 portrait panels.

NeoSolar presents new lithium battery

NeoSolar, a photovoltaic energy distributor, was present at the fair to showcase its new lines of microinverters and lithium batteries, in order to reinforce the company's positioning in the Off Grid products market.

On this first day, the company showed the public more details about its main launch for the second half of this year: the Unipower lithium battery, with performance up to 73% greater than other models and recharge time up to nine times faster.

According to the distributor, the new lithium battery has a useful life of around 12 years, is lighter than traditional batteries, does not require maintenance and can also be monitored through free software management.

BYD bets on solar modules

BYD, a manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, launched the new national monofacial and bifacial photovoltaic modules on the first day of Intersolar, with nominal powers of 450 Wp, 530 Wp and 670 Wp. The new line promises to raise the level of automation and technology in the manufacturing processes of solar modules through equipment that will allow adding technologies to the products, the main ones being: multi-busbar, half-cell, 1/3 cut cell, micro- gap and negative-gap.
