A EDP, a company that operates in all business areas of the national electricity sector, and the Sebrae/ES (Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses of Espírito Santo), signed a partnership.

Potência Solar will be presented to entrepreneurs from Espírito Santo this week, between the 28th and 30th of this month in Vitória, Linhares and Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, respectively.

The objective of the initiative is contribute and facilitate access for small and medium-sized companies to solar DG, aiming at decarbonization through the use of renewable energy, in addition to generating savings of up to 18% in energy costs.

Among the programs that make up the partnership is Solar Digital, developed by EDP to offer solar energy solutions through the Distributed Generation modality.

The partnership with Sebrae/ES also offers different conditions in the Free Retail and Wholesale Market modalities. In the case of Retailers, companies will have a reduction in the amounts charged for the energy management service.

According to Luiz Toniato, technical director at Sebrae/ES, the initiative acts directly on the growth and development of the solar sector. “Reducing this energy cost generates more competitiveness and more sustainable businesses”, he points out.

The discount increases according to the number of UCs (consumer units) registered. In the Wholesale modality, EDP will also offer lower values for energy management and differentiated prices for the acquisition of i-Rec's (Renewable Energy Certificates), a certification that ensures the renewable origin of energy.

According to EDP, leading the energy transition in the global ranking is among its main targets for this year. By the end of 2023, R$ 225 million will be injected in the state of Espírito Santo in the solar DG segment.

With a development of more than 46 MWp, 26 MWp of this total will be allocated to shared generation plants, which have simple membership and can serve small and medium-sized companies.

About Solar Power

Those interested in participating in the program must present energy costs between R$ 1 thousand and R$ 10 thousand at low voltage. Furthermore, the customer must be in the same concession area as the plant responsible for generating the energy.

After subscribing to the product, one of EDP's photovoltaic plants will provide energy remotely through the distribution service.

“In the case of the Solar Digital service, we enable companies to connect with our plants, without them needing to worry about the construction or management of the plants”, says Diogo Baraban, Solar Commercial Director at EDP Brasil.

All operation and maintenance is the sole responsibility of the company. Therefore, customers do not bear costs for the installation and infrastructure of photovoltaic plants.

According to Baraban, Solar Digital meets the multinational's strategy of accelerating the energy transition in Brazil, contributing to the expansion of the solar sector, as well as to the development of the state of Espírito Santo.
